Are your Paramedic and EMT online live classes and Online Courses accepted by the NREMT?
Yes. They the Paramedic and EMT Online Courses are taught in a State Approved Classroom, either Recorded F3 and Live which is classified as F5 category CEs. Jon Puryear was the very first company to work with the NREMT in 2009 to perform an Online Live Class and have it accepted. The NREMT has since approved and defined the VILCs based off of what Jon Puryear created. So you can say that Jon Puryear is the "Father of the VILCs".
If I have failed the NREMT Paramedic and EMT written exam 3 times, do I have to take the Online Live Class or can I take the Recorded Online Courses version?
In order to get another 3 attempts at the Paramedic, Advanced, and EMT NREMT written exam, you must take the Online Refresher Course. The NREMT now accepts an unlimited amount of Recorded Online CE /Distance Learning hours. I recommend taking the Live Online Refresher as it has a 92-95% pass rate because you dedicate yourself to attend the specific dates/times to take the class.
Do I have to attend every listed date/time of the Paramedic and EMT Online Live Class?
Yes. In order to receive the full Paramedic and EMT CE credit, you must attend all listed dates/times of the online live class and actively participate by answering the questions posed by Jon Puryear during the lectures. They are "live" online courses.
Is there special software or equipment that I need on my computer to take the Paramedic and EMT Online Live Classes?
You do not need a webcam or a microphone. You will see and hear Jon Puryear during the lectures but he can't see or hear you. You will be logged into his Virtual Instructor Led Online Live Classroom in a chat room.
Will I receive a certificate for the Paramedic and EMT online live classes?
Yes you will be emailed a Certificate of Completion for the Paramedic and EMT Online Live Class and Live Online Recorded Courses that you successfully complete following the class. You will be able to save and print this certificate and provide it to the Agency of your choice. The 16 hour NREMT Prep course does NOT issue a certificate as it is to help individuals pass the NREMT written exam.
Are there any required textbooks for these classes?
No. Paramedic and EMT handouts and instructions will be emailed to you after registration and payment have been made for the Online Live Class or Online Courses and one week prior to the beginning of the class.
Can I perform the Paramedic and EMT Online Recorded Courses at my own convenience?
Yes. In order to get your certificate for each individual class, you must watch the training video in its entirety without pausing or fast-forwarding, in order for the link to take the post exam to appear. This is a security measure required for me to assure the individual watched the video and passed the exam in order for me to award CE credits.
I am trying to pass the NREMT as a student who completed school or have failed. What course do you recommend to help me pass?
There is a 16 hour NREMT Prep Class/Review that is an online recorded class that may be taken at your own convenience. There is an EMT version and a Paramedic version (Advanced usually take the Paramedic version as there currently isn't a specific Advanced prep course). This is a great review where Jon Puryear teaches the information beginning with Operations and ending with Pediatrics so that you "get it" and to help you identify where your strengths and weaknesses are. Both of these courses were specifically designed to help students pass the NREMT written exam. You may find more information about this course at www.nationalregistryprep.com. If you feel that you need a more in depth review course, then we recommend you take the online recorded refresher course (EMT and Paramedic versions).
As an EMS Program Coordinator/Educator, may I purchase one individual class/course and play it in a group setting?
NO. Every class/course that I have available is a single purchase license agreement and may not be shared, copied, reproduced in any way, shape, form, or fashion. The training videos AND handouts are copyrighted and may not be handed out without written requested approval from Jon Puryear EMS CE. If you would like to play the class in a group setting, contact Jon providing the number of students you will have attending and he will invoice you for that number at a discounted rate (if over 10). He will provide you with your own special account and give you instructions on how to play the videos in a group setting just as if he is performing it live.
Will my State accept your Paramedic and EMT Online Courses and Online Live Class CE hours for my State recertification?
All Paramedic and EMT Online Courses and Online Live Classes award CE hours through State of Texas CE Program 600232 Jon Puryear CE. You will have to check with your State EMS Agency and ask them if they accept out of state Texas CE Program hours.
Are your Paramedic and EMT Online Courses and Online Live Classes CAPCE approved?
No. However the NREMT accepts State Approved Virtual Instructor Led Online Live Classroom (F5 category) CE hours, Paramedic and EMT Refreshers, and transition courses. The Live Online Courses do NOT have to be CAPCE accredited for these types of CE hours. The recorded online CE classes/packages award State of Texas CE Program CE hours. They are a State Approved CE Program defined by the NREMT.
What are the NREMT requirements if my NREMT certification has lapsed?
You must take the Online Refresher and the Recorded 16 hour NREMT Review. I highly recommend taking the Online Live Refresher to increase your chance of passing the NREMT exam and it includes the 16 hour NREMT Review for free. Here are the answers:
